Firmino confident of Liverpool success

Liverpool attacker Roberto Firmino believes his team will be successful under manager Jurgen Klopp.

Firmino, 24, was signed by the Premier League club from Hoffenheim in June before struggling early in his Anfield career.

But since Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers in October, the Brazil international has starred and netted his first Liverpool goal in their 4-1 thrashing of Manchester City.

Firmino said he was happy with the appointment of former Borussia Dortmund coach Klopp, who has helped his side to seven wins in 11 games.

Schalke head coach Jens Keller has urged his team to kick-start their Bundesliga season in front of their own fans on Saturday against Augsburg.

Keller s side have been struggling for consistency in the league so far this term, winning just two of seven games to be dwindling in 14th a far cry from their fourth-place finish last season that earned them a UEFA Champions League spot.

I can see Neymar at Real Madrid – Roberto Carlos

Neymar wearing a Real Madrid shirt could be a possibility in the future, according to compatriot Roberto Carlos. 

Lionel Messi was awarded a fifth Ballon d Or trophy on Monday, with Neymar finishing as the third best player of the world for 2015, behind his Barcelona team-mate and Madrid s Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Brazilian has established himself as an integral figure in the Barca side since his big-money switch from Santos in 2013. 

However Carlos who made over 500 appearances across an 11-year spell with Madrid says he can see Neymar playing in the Spanish capital in the future. 

Neymar is very young, he told Punto Pelota. I am sure next year he will finish even higher in the Ballon d Or.

Maradona states terms for extending Argentina deal

Argentina coach Diego Maradona has announced that he hopes to continue in his role but only if he does not have to change his backroom staff from the World Cup in South Africa.

I ve got a meeting with (Argentina Football Association president Julio) Grondona this week and this week I ll decide whether to continue or not, Maradona told America TV in a programme broadcast on Sunday night.

Erling Haaland is a player in demand but he is not certain to leave Borussia Dortmund, according to Sport Bild.
